COPESAN
The COPESAN project has developed an integrated technological platform for the identification, prediction and mitigation of flood-related impacts in urban environments, helping to improve resilience to extreme weather events. The solution integrates hydrological and hydraulic models, sewer network data, weather forecasts, Copernicus satellite data, historical event records and urban data under the concept of a Digital Twin. Its innovation combines predictive models, data analytics, geospatial artificial intelligence, early warnings, resilience protocols and 3D GIS/Augmented Reality visualisation.
As a result of COPESAN, progress has been made in an integrated platform for the prediction, visualisation and early management of urban flood risk. The main outcomes include a Digital Twin for flood and overflow prediction, Copernicus satellite data analytics for model calibration, an early warning system, urban resilience protocols and visualisation tools based on 3D GIS and Augmented Reality, improving anticipation and response to flooding events.
COPESAN has been developed by SEIPA, GEOGRAMA, RKL Integral and TEAM, with the participation of TECNALIA. Duration: 01/12/2023–31/12/2025. Investment: €356,090. Grant: €115,145.
