WH2YTE (HAZITEK)

TEAM GROUP Engineering participates in the project WH2YTE (Nº ZL-2025/00622)  HAZITEK program, selected by the Basque Government, SPRI and FEDER; with a total annual Budget of € 657.000 (€ 141.000 for TEAM GROUP Engineering)

The main objective of WH2YTE is to advance our understanding of the mechanisms that lead to the generation and storage of natural hydrogen in the Earth’s inner layers.

The specific objectives of WH2YTE include:

• To understand the conditions under which natural hydrogen is formed and replicate them in laboratory tests.
• To identify suitable materials for tubing systems used in water injection to stimulate production, as well as for the extraction of hydrogen from underground.
• To determine the effect of hydrogen on potential valve materials for the extraction of hydrogen from the subsurface.
• Design solutions for separating the produced or extracted hydrogen from other compounds.
• Identify potential local sites where natural hydrogen may be found.
